I will post all the results I have of Connor's short but STELLAR racing career.  He was destined for great success and he had some GREAT results!

Here are a few highlights of 2007!

  • Connor was ranked #2 in the 2007 AMA Dirt Track Grand Championships 250cc DTX class behind Horizon Award Winner Jeffrey Carver.
  • Connor was ranked #5 in the 2007 AMA Dirt Track Grand Championships 250cc 4 stroke MOD class.
  • Connor went undefeated on his Honda CRF450 at the 2007 New England SuperMoto Classic.  AMA National Amateur Series. (Won Open Am and 450 Am)
  • Connor placed 5th at the 84th Annual Loudon Classic Motard Race.  He was the top Amateur placing behind Pros Jeff Wood and Shane Narbonne
  • Connor was ranked #1 in the 2007 AMA Sports Winter National Short Track Series 75-160cc 4 stroke class.
  • Connor was ranked #2 in the 2007 AMA Sports Winter National Short Track Series 85cc DTX class.
  • Two weeks before Connor passed, he raced the Dagostino Cup in Rotterdam New York, our closest track. When we showed up, we were told that National #2 plate holder for two years running, Jared Mees was there to race. The ONLY time I ever told Connor to hang back was this day. When we found out Connor was in a heat race with the Harley Davidson Factory Rider, I told Connor to go out and hang behind him and check out his lines. I told him that we had an important test with Red Bull in a few weeks and he didnt need to get hurt trying to prove himself. This was his FIRST day as an Expert (which is another story to be told) and Connor simply stated "Dad, I dont care who he is,......I can beat him!" Not arrogant, just matter-of-fact. Well he went out and did just that! He got the hole shot and never looked back...till the red flag came out before the first lap was complete. I said to myself that Jared will not let that happen again and Connor will be fighting for second place. The green flag was dropped for the second time and Connor was at the front, again! I think it was a 6 lap heat race and Connor held off the reigning #2 rider in the country for all 6 laps! The crowd was completely silent and as Connor took the checker flag for his FIRST expert race, a guy came up to me and said: "do you know who your son just beat?"....I replied..."You better believe I do!!" It was that race that Jim Romeo and myself fully realized the talent Connor posessed in flat track racing. You see, Connor was racing a brand new //2006 leftover// Honda 450 that was stock, except for the pipe. Jared was on a factory Harley with his own mechanic! Whatever I gave Connor, he raced the heck out of it!! I miss that boy terribly!

I will post more soon!
